GLORIA
DIRECTOR OF CULTURAL OUTREACH
-
As a part of Emory’s House, I focus on cultural engagement, which involves a wide range of culturally informative and inclusive events tailored to meet the needs of the target audiences.
On the side, I work as an independently contracted social worker to provide informational trainings and workshops that primarily focus on the intersection of mental health, art, and social justice.
I also love to spend my free time exploring and connecting with nature, reading, creating art, baking delicious treats to share with friends, and researching sustainable ways of living!
-
I pride myself on being someone who is willing to try anything once, but driving on highways, morally questionable actions, and overstimulating environments really put that statement to the test.
-
I aspire to create a community where a gift economy is one of the leading principles (shoutout to Dr. Robert Wall Kimerer) along with sustainable living practices and collective support is practiced among its members.
I would also love to live in the mountains and eventually become one with the plants to photosynthesize, but that has yet to happen.

Emory’s House is an organization where anyone can feel comfortable being vulnerable- in sharing their truest selves through their art. The environment we wish to establish through our events and workshops is collaborative, supportive, inspiring, and immersive. We are the brick house on which hungry artists can grow like ivy.
The limit is only as high as the ceiling. And we keep raising it.
