I’m the founder of Emory’s House. The idea for this company came from a strong desire to provide emerging artists the support they deserve. Many of them (myself included) often feel as if their ambitions are nothing but a pipe dream. I hope to reduce those feelings – or eliminate them entirely - through programming and aid designed to foster community, cultural engagement, and creative expression. So, I invite all curious artists to come inside. Our house is your house.
Outside of Emory’s House, I’m a poet, dad-joke aficionado, and frequenter of local culture. The people around me are the reason I do the things I do. My friends call me an “introverted extrovert.” If I meet you one day, I’ll probably ask you an insanely specific/thought-provoking question because I try to break the ice in the most interesting ways.

I DO NOT do roller coasters (human bodies are not desisted to go that fast), ketchup on hotdogs (it’s a Chicago thing…), EDM (no shade to those that enjoy it, but it just sounds all the same to me), or the idea that art isn’t something that is necessary for the planet.

I used to say that my dream is to “be somebody one day.” But, the more I think about it, the more I’m starting to see that I’m somebody now. So, I guess my dream is to be able to freely be that somebody. To freely be myself. Each day is full of good and bad; doubt and inspiration; noise and silence; Love and hate, but the one thing that I strive to do is to not lose myself in all of that. My dream is to keep my own sense of self and the inspire others around me to do the same.

Emory’s House is an organization where anyone can feel comfortable being vulnerable- in sharing their truest selves through their art. The environment we wish to establish through our events and workshops is collaborative, supportive, inspiring, and immersive. We are the brick house on which hungry artists can grow like ivy.
The limit is only as high as the ceiling. And we keep raising it.
